—Claude J. Summers, THE QUEER ENCYCLOPEDIA OF FILM & TELEVISION

UN CHANT D’AMOUR is the only film made by subversive French novelist/felon Jean Genet—and it's a poetic masterpiece. Visually reminiscent of Jean Cocteau’s BLOOD OF A POET and Kenneth Anger’s FIREWORKS, this is electric short tells the story of a guard and two prisoners in a prison. Banned in France upon its release, and previously only available in the US in censored form, UN CHANT D’AMOUR is now presented in its complete version for the first time ever.

NOTE: This is a short film with a runtime of 26 minutes.
