After cracking skulls and souls with the one-two punch of SUSPIRIA and INFERNO, Dario Argento went back to basics with this wickedly fun '82 giallo slasher. A horror novelist hangs out in Rome to promote his latest best-seller...at the same time, a lunatic with a variety of weapons mutilates everyone and blames it on the writer. It’s never clear why this is happening, but who cares? With stylized comic book visuals, an ass-shaking synth soundtrack by Goblin, and a meta-exploration of violence and sexism, there’s no reason to think about anything except how amazing it feels to be overwhelmed by this movie.
