Starring massive heartthrob Jet Li, this is a fascinating Hong Kong take on the success of Hollywood's 1992 hit THE BODYGUARD that mashes up stone-cold action and gauzy romance. A corrupt businessman commits murder and the only witness is the girlfriend of another businessman with close connections to the Chinese government. A bodyguard from the mainland is dispatched to help two HK cops protect the witness, but things get complicated quick when the bodyguard and witness must confront their deep feelings for one another.
