There will never be another movie like BLOOD FEAST—the first "splatter" film in horror history. Written by Allison Louise Downe, produced by David F. Friedman, and directed by Herschell Gordon Lewis, BLOOD FEAST follows a caterer named Fuad Ramses who is hired to provide "an authentic Egyptian feast” for a birthday party. He wastes no time in committing unbelievable mutilation murders to appease an Egyptian goddess named Ishtar. A direct influence on John Waters (MULTIPLE MANIACS), Frank Henenlotter (BASKET CASE), and dozens of 1980s slashers, BLOOD FEAST erupts with pop-art brain-bludgeons, tabloid-style ghoulishness, and pitch-black gallows humor.
