ATOR, THE FIGHTING EAGLE

Joe D'Amato, Italy, 1982, Multicom, Cult

From director Joe D’Amato, ATOR: THE FIGHTING EAGLE is the first film in the Italian CONAN THE BARBARIAN-inspired franchise starring Miles O’Keefe (TARZAN, THE MAN APE). Swordman-scientist-magician Ator must rescue his kidnapped sister, who he’s just been granted permission to wed (it’s okay, Ator’s adopted). On his quest he is kidnapped by Amazons, seduced by a witch, and retrieves a magic shield; but it is his final quest – the destruction of the Spider Cult – that is his birthright. A cult hit of the sword-and-sandal variety, ATOR: THE FIGHTING EAGLE is a favorite among riffers and adventurous audiences.
