DANCE OF THE DAMNED

Katt Shea, USA, 1989, Shout! Factory, Horror

“Good acting and an imaginative premise set this film apart from other low-budget vampire yarns.” - AllMovie

Even vampires occasionally cave in to their baser tragic instincts. In this imaginative supernatural sleazer, a bloodsucker follows his thirst to a strip club where he finds himself transfixed by one of the performers. It turns out that his bat-senses are tingling because she’s contemplating suicide, but he wants to share her life before taking it, and during the course of the evening they discuss their differences, their fears, and their lifestyles (essentially similar to BEFORE SUNRISE if the sunrise itself would be lethal to Ethan Hawke’s character). As the moment of truth approaches, the woman becomes unsure that she wants to die… but has that decision already been made?
