FLESHEATER

Bill Hinzman, USA, 1988, Vinegar Syndrome, Horror

"Halloween just got fun again."
— BLEEDING SKULL!

A "spiritual sequel" to George Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD that takes place entirely on Halloween night, FLESHEATER is a hypnotizing 16mm gore epic that overflows with autumn vibes, killer synthesizers, and wall-to-wall denim. On Halloween night, a group of twentysomethings take a hayride through the woods. At the same time, the First Zombie from NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (director Bill Hinzman) is resurrected from his grave by a construction worker. Darkness falls. And with it comes an army of bloodthirsty, undead maniacs, all led by First Zombie on a mission of brain-chomping carnage. FLESHEATER is a fitting tribute to Romero’s chilling masterpiece, updating the setting to the late 1980s while piling on the gut-munching, throat-ripping, and limb-tearing action. Newly restored in 4K from the original 16mm camera negative!
