A stylish, gory, and sleazy take on the Frankenstein story in true Italian exploitation fashion. Helmed by director Mario Mancini (camera operator on many Sixties gems like BLOOD AND BLACK LACE and NIGHTMARE CASTLE), FRANKENSTEIN ‘80 merely gives a cursory nod to Mary Shelley’s original tale, instead injecting touches of giallos, a streak of dark humor and piles of gruesome SFX by Carlo Rambaldi (E.T., POSSESSION).
