A nasty little neo-noir directed by Roger Corman at the height of his fiefdom within indie studio giant AIP (American International Pictures). The central performance by a young Charles Bronson is just as enjoyable as Dick Miller's in A BUCKET OF BLOOD or Vincent Prince in THE PIT AND THE PENDULUM. Bronson is the titular temperamental gangster who robs banks, shoots his partners and kidnaps a little girl in the film’s main caper.
