SHARK HUNTER

Enzo Castellari, Italy, 1979, Severin Films, Horror

“A must for Franco Nero fans…Seventies action with plenty of shootouts, explosions, high-speed chases and sharks chomping on people.” - Schlock To The System

Before Italian genre director stalwart Enzo Castellari (1990: THE BRONX WARRIORS, THE INGLORIOUS BASTARDS) got burned in court by Universal Pictures for his JAWS riff GREAT WHITE (1981), he first got a taste for sharksploitation with SHARK HUNTER: a double-barreled shark-punching blast. Here Castellari is reunited with superstar Franco Nero, who plays a reclusive fisherman with a haunted past. Nero battles cold-blooded treasure hunters to retrieve $100 million from an underwater grotto infested (natch) with killer sharks.
