THE FINAL COMEDOWN

One of the most powerful anti-fascist counterculture films of its era, THE FINAL COMEDOWN stars a baby-faced Billy Dee Williams as Johnny Johnson: a young man with a promising future who’s denied a job in favor of a white man who’s far less qualified. Reacting to this systematic oppression, Johnny joins a radical civil-rights group who believes that violent revolution is the only solution to inequality and corruption. Director Oscar Williams (FIVE ON THE BLACK HAND SIDE) sidesteps blaxploitation tropes and uses pseudo-documentary techniques to create something more akin to the Euro political cinema of Godard.
