Eighties horror specialist Lewis Teague (ALLIGATOR, CUJO, CAT’S EYE) got his Seventies start with THE LADY IN RED, one of the best films from Corman’s New World Pictures era. Pamela Sue Martin is fantastic as Polly Franklin, the dancehall girl who hooks up with John Dillinger (Robert Conrad) and ultimately leads to his downfall. The focus here away from the main gangster gives the film an unpredictable angle that's milked for all it's worth, and the unusual structure also allows for colorful supporting roles from Louise Fletcher, Christopher Lloyd, Dick Miller and Robert Forster.
