WHAT MAISIE KNEW

The murderer’s-row cast of Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgård and Steve Coogan carom off each other in this modern retelling of Henry James’ Victoriant novel about the divorce of two self-centered people and the effect this has on their young daughter. WHAT MAISIE KNEW takes us through the POV of six-year-old Maisie (Onata Aprile), living in contemporary Manhattan and trying her best to interpret the often-incomprehensible behavior of adults using her as a pawn in wars they wage against each other. The film is harrowing in its depiction of an almost-casual loss of innocence.
