ACES GO PLACES

One of Hong Kong’s most hugely successful crime comedies of the Eighties, ACES GO PLACES made a film star out of Sam Hui, one of the first big Cantopop singing sensations. Hui plays King Kong: a clever James Bond-ian thief who steals a diamond cache from some gangsters, framing another thief called White Glove for the crime. That's when aging detective Albert Au (Karl Maka), who’s chased King Kong for quite some time, pairs with the energetic Superintendent Ho (Sylvia Chang) to bring him to justice. King Kong ends up joining the good guys to defeat White Glove and recover the diamonds from where they were left by King Kong's dead accomplice.
