CLASS OF ’74

Arthur Marks & Mack Bing, USA, 1972, Film Masters, Cult

Co-directed by Seventies indie film legend Arthur Marks (DETROIT 9000, FRIDAY FOSTER), CLASS OF ‘74 is an ahead-of-its-time feminist character study that also checks all the sexploitation / hippie-sploitation boxes. Four college students set out to explore all that life has to give, as they find new relationships and study the ones from their past. Production touches like fast-cut montages, slo-mo effects, kaleidoscopic imagery, soft-focus love scenes, rad L.A. locations and pensive flute music lend a distinctive era-specific style.
