FESTIVAL EXPRESS

A most excellent companion concert film to WOODSTOCK, and an even more intimate look at the Sixties’ most spellbindering performers. In the Summer of ‘70, Canadian promoters hired a cross-country train to bring the best of the era’s rock to Toronto, Winnipeg and Calgary. These fun folks (Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, Buddy Guy, The Band, Ian & Sylvia, The Flying Burrito Brothers) of course partied it up on the rented Festival Express between the gigs…and the whole affair was filmed home movie-style. This immersive experience makes you feel like you’re *there* in a way that few concert docs can achieve.
