For fans of the inimitable comedic geniuses (and mother-daughter squad) Elaine May and Jeannie Berlin! This rarely-screened proto-mumblecore comedy from 1990 is a star-studded tale of love, death, karma, fate, sex work, health food, mafia murder, crooked cops and interior design. For socialite Marianne (Elaine May), her husband Roger (Peter Falk) and health nut Reva (Marlo Thomas), life goes sour after a sex-worker neighbor (Jeannie Berlin) with Mafia connections expires beneath an out-of-control waterbed. Inheriting her incriminating date book, the two unsuspecting women become the target of a mysterious murderer determined to ensure that the little black book remains unread.
