WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? (1991)

David Greene, USA, 1991, Multicom, Cult

“There's definitely some campy fun to be had for us hagsploitation enthusiasts.”
— seandroid, LETTERBOXD

Long-forgotten child star Baby Jane Hudson (Lynn Redgrave) is a recluse who only leaves the house to acquire her next bottle of booze. Her wheelchair-bound sister Blanche (Vanessa Redgrave), who achieved great success as an actress, depends upon Jane for necessities. But Jane mostly neglects Blanche's needs while selfishly spending her money. When Blanche's popularity sees a resurgence after her movies are released on video, Jane transforms the household into a prison, berating and abusing a helpless Blanche. A bonkers, made-for-TV remake of the 1962 classic, this version of WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BABY JANE? is a must for admirers of the bizarre.
